I was born in Chrzanow but since my youngest years I have been living in Krakow. In the years 1991 -1993 I studied painting and drawing in Kiew. There I was acquainted with the traditional school of painting and drawing, which is of great importance to me. From 1993 to 1998 I studied Artistic Education at Wyzsza Szkola Pedagogiczna ( being called at present - The Faculty of Art at Pedagogical Academy) in Krakow. I obtained a degree in painting, being supervised by professor Stanislaw Sobolewski, by making a cycle of paintings "The balconies of Kiew ”. My M.A. thesis, supervised by professor Mr Romuald Oramus, was entitled: "The tendencies in the development of modern Ukrainian art ” . In the years 1998 - 2003 I was on a few month scholarships in Künstlerhaus in Cuxhaven where I became the laureate of the prize "Künstlerhauspreis Cuxhaven 1998". In the years 2000 and 2001 I was honored for the exhibition: Lwow’s International Autumn Showroom High Castle in Lwow. In 2002, I received the scholarship in Gartenhaus in Otterndorf, then in 2004 I obtained a similar scholarship - in Stade. I am mainly concerned with painting, and for several years the subject matter of my paintings has been related to the urban landscape (gates, balconies). I have already “portrayed” such cities, as: Kyiv, Wilno, Krakow, Lublin, Otterndorf, Stade and also Krzyztopor castle in Ujazd. My works are in private collections in Poland, Germany, Great Britain and Ukraine. Apart from painting and drawing I am also occupied with photography (nudes, portraits). Since2001, I have been a member of thePolish Artist Association(ZPAP). |
